  • Overview

    The Loan Processor collects and processes supporting documentation for mortgage loan applications. They are responsible for ensuring files adhere to company policy as well as regulatory and secondary market guidelines. They answer inquiries and keep personnel and customers updated on the status of applications and any exceptions. Serving as a liaison with service providers and vendors, they ensure quality and timeliness of service. As a Processor you will collect, verify, document and distribute all information required to submit a mortgage loan file for underwriting approval, request documentation as needed to overcome any underwriting conditions, order closing documents and coordinate the closing dates and times with all parties involved. A high level of communication, polished customer service skills and the ability to time-manage are crucial



     Upload files submitted from the branch into the loan origination system, assign loan numbers and distribute to appropriate personnel
     Review application packages for integrity and completeness including compliance with regulatory disclosures and guidelines
     Transfer uploaded application files into the loan origination system and submit to the secondary market automated underwriting system for determinations
     Review automated underwriting findings, troubleshoot exception and ensure all requirements and recommendations are addressed
     Order, track and clear exceptions associated with verifications, appraisal, title, credit reports, OFAC, flood certifications. Ensure proper notice and regulatory treatment of denied, incomplete and withdrawn applications
     Update application information as data and verifications are received
     Extensive knowledge in investor and program guidelines
     Analyze loan information prior to submission to underwriting
     Bring exceptions to the attention of the underwriter as necessary. Assemble final processing package for underwriter
     Update pipeline report as necessary
     Submit complete files to underwriter complete with underwriting comments and conditions already in file
     Participate in ongoing training programs, including online training

     Thorough knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, Rural Housing, VA and private investor underwriting, documentation and program guidelines. Ability to assimilate complex lending laws and regulations and apply them on a practical basis.
     Extensive knowledge of the mortgage loan origination and automated underwriting systems
     Ability to target and adhere to timelines under variable demand scenarios
     Basic knowledge of mortgage calculations and financial accounting principles
     Strong attention to detail with excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills
     Time management skills
     Able to work well with co-workers and all levels management
     Effective oral and written communication with customers, co-workers and all levels of management
     Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
     Ability to identify and resolve problems in timely matter by gathering and analyzing information

     A minimum 3 year of Mortgage Processing experience is required
     Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
    Ability to work a five day work week Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm (overtime as needed).
    While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to effectively communicate verbally. The employee must be able to effectively operate a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds. Vision abilities is required by this job include close vision.
